The Empires' model has been depreciated in favour of the Nation-States, which have failed, however, since their birth, because of their propensity to radicalism and deadly crises. The imperial temptation thus remains prevalent as the conditions for its resurgence are still present. However, far from all nostalgia, we must free ourselves from bulky and imperfect situations, and instead attach ourselves to the Peace that this model has managed to preserve within its areas of influence. Europe and its democratic Imperium, which is rather flexible and liberal with regard to national diversities, is still a rather singular example of this. But for how long?
